RFID INFORMATION

(Radio Frequency ID Chips)

Some of you now that Credit Cards, Debit Cards, etc. have RFID chips embedded which are scanned when you make a purchase.  You need to be very aware of the following to protect yourself…

A thief who has an RFID scanner can come up to you; if a man, then usually they would scan the back pocket where they keep their wallets; for a woman, of course her purse.  They can obtain all of your information within 3 seconds.

After they scan your card, they either make a duplicate hard copy of your card or they just use the number with all of the information to make a purchase.  You may not discover anything until you receive your billing statement with the fraud charges.

In order to protect yourself from thefts you can purchase an RFID wallet which has the blocking material made within the wallet itself; the thief cannot obtain any information thru this material.  A very reputable wallet is made by Stronghold; they make both men’s and women’s wallets at very reasonable prices.  If you need more information, you can Google Stronghold RFID wallets as well as RFID sleeves.

You can purchase an RFID card sleeve which your card just slips into at Walmart, Staples, Office Depot, Target, etc.

And keep in mind that they just don’t use your card in the United States, this is a Global problem.  Case in point, a friend of mine had his wallet scanned within 24 hours someone in Italy tried to purchase a Mercedes and put a $9,000 deposit on his card.  Of course, it did not go thru, however, the thief was not caught but at  least my friend did not lose $9,000!
